This is Not the End

Sometimes when life is going great we create a picture in our mind of that moment. And no matter how bad things get, we hold on to that idea of the perfect situation we once had. Even when we're hurting, we cling to that hope of things returning back to the state they once were.

But then, there comes that day. That day when the hope, the mental picture of how life used to be and once could be again, is destroyed. You suddenly realize, there's no going back. You can only move forward. And while some things may be restored as once before, in your situation that is not what is meant to be.

To quote Kid President, "And it hurt man!"

Life can hurt.

But guess what?

It doesn't end there.

Yes, life hurts. Sometimes we wonder why things happen to us. But as C.S. Lewis said so wisely:
"We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be."
It's easy to get caught up with the wondering. But in the end, we have to remember that God is so much bigger than any hurt. He cares about us more than anyone else on this earth can. But He also uses these times in our lives to stretch and grow us.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.

              Psalm 147:3-5
